I hope it’s not true : Deepika 12 Aug 2008 - 414 Views - admin - Shubha Shetty-Saha dna
Deepika Padukone finds it hard to believe that mentor Farah Khan is allegedly upset with her.
Recently, Deepika Padukone has had the privilege of winning the top position in the Maxim hot 100 list, joining the likes of previous ‘number ones’ like Lindsay Lohan, Eva Longoria and Marissa Miller. Deepika says, “It feels great. It’s great to be representing India internationally and that too so early in my career.”
However, back home people don’t seem to be too pleased with her. Director Farah Khan, who gave her a break in Om Shanti Om (OSO), is apparently upset with Deepika for not keeping in touch.
The actor says, “I didn’t know about this at all. I only got to know it through the papers. I don’t think there is any kind of awkwardness between us. I have been busy shooting out of the country for almost the past six months,” she explains adding, “I haven’t even been able to meet my parents. I am sure if Farah had any such issues, she would tell me. She is the kind who is honest about what she feels. I just hope it’s not true.”
Deepika says that rumours of her being unhappy with the publicity of 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' are not true either. She says, “It is just my second film. The hoardings have given all four of us (including Ranbir Kapoor, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba) equal footage. All these things don’t matter anyway. What matters is that people should say, ‘Wow! We loved Deepika’s performance in the film’.”
Deepika adds that working with beau Ranbir didn’t make any difference to her as an actor. “Off-screen chemistry doesn’t necessarily translate into an onscreen one. We are actors and it doesn’t matter who you are working with.”
